Recent Trial Results

  • December 2007 – Curt Webb and Andrea Paterson secured a 1.1 million dollar verdict in a commercial lawsuit tried for a week and a half in federal district court in Victoria, Texas. The client’s claim arose from the purchase of a 6 million dollar steam turbine that failed to perform as promised. This case is currently on appeal. The client paid the firm on an hourly fee basis and therefore will receive all of the judgment from the trial court if affirmed on appeal.
  • July 2007 – Curt Webb and Jerry Blackwell secured a complete defense verdict for a Fortune 500 client who had been sued in a product liability lawsuit in federal district court in Saint Louis, Missouri. The two week trial arose over allegations that the client’s product had failed to protect the plaintiff resulting in the plaintiff contracting lung cancer.
  • June 2007 – Curt Webb and Steve Clack secured an 11.47 million dollar verdict in a personal injury lawsuit tried for two weeks in State District Court in Abilene, Texas. The client is a young man who was working a summer job when he was 16-years-old and suffered a catastrophic injury to both hands that resulted in near amputation of his hands. This case is currently on appeal. Additional defendants settled prior to trial. The clients entered into a contingency fee agreement paying the lawyers 1/3 of any recovery in the case. Thus, the client will receive 2/3 of any recovery in this case.
