HLVP's Day of Giving January 12, 2008 - BRS attorneys and staff participated in the HVLP’s unprecedented Day of Giving outreach program. BRS was one of many Law firms and corporations who donating their time to conduct legal aid clinics throughout the city of Houston. Hundreds of families were provided legal assistance at these clinics.
Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure November 4, 2007 – Beck, Redden & Secrest, L.L.P. sponsored the University of Texas Women’s Law Caucus’s Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure team. Over 25 law students participated in the run including BRS attorney Patrice Childress.

Others at the Firm are active volunteers with the Junior League of Houston and the Children's Museum of Houston.

Lending a helping hand

The Firm as a whole collects coats for the Houston Bar Association Clothing Drive for the Homeless & Children, provides comforters for Boys & Girls Country of Houston, and gives gifts to the second-grade classes at Crockett Elementary School as part of the Faces of Change Holiday Toy Drive.

The Firm’s attorneys and paralegals participate in the Houston Volunteer Lawyer’s Program (HLVP). This program provides legal services to Houstonians who could not otherwise afford these services. HVLP seeks to aid those that other programs fail to serve, such as resident aliens, or those who do not meet the stringent financial criteria of federal programs.

Before he passed away, Ron Secrest was a Board Member and active supporter of the Ronald McDonald House. The Firm has continued to support the organization in many ways, donating $100,000 to build a room in Mr. Secrest's name and sponsoring a table at the organization's annual gala event. David J. Beck serves as a Board Member with the organization.
