Post Elected Chair of the Houston Bar Association Appellate Practice Section
April 17, 2009Russell Post has been elected chair of the Houston Bar Association Appellate Practice Section.
The HBA Appellate Practice Section is the largest local association of appellate specialists in the State of Texas. In addition to monthly meetings featuring keynote speakers on various aspects of civil appellate law, the section focuses on a host of events including an annual Judicial Reception to honor the appellate justices from the Houston Courts of Appeals.
Additionally, the section participates in many charitable and service activities, sponsoring brief-writing awards for all three Houston area law schools and CLE scholarships for the permanent staff attorneys at the Houston appellate courts.
This year, the Appellate Practice Section will implement a new pro bono initiative designed to expand pro bono representation for indigent litigants in the Houston appellate courts.
