Favorable Verdict for Client CMS Viron
January 8, 2010Joe W. Redden, Jr., Michael Richardson, and Patrice Childress obtained a favorable jury verdict on behalf of firm client Viron on December 16, 2009. TSU had contracted for Viron to install millions of dollars worth of equipment on the campus, but failed to pay for the equipment once it was installed. The project was financed by State Street Bank through a lease purchase agreement. The jury first rejected all of State Street Bank's claims against CMS Viron. The jury then found in favor of CMS Viron on its claims against TSU for breach of contract and warranty and awarded CMS Viron damages. The jury also found in favor of CMS Viron on its claim against escrow agent, Academic Services, and its sister company Academic Capital, and awarded damages to CMS Viron.
