BRS Wins Dismissal For Client In Court of Appeals
March 15, 2010The Fourteenth Court of Appeals recently reversed a Houston trial court’s denial of a special appearance in a case against the former president of a Mexican corporation who was brought into a multi-million dollar suit between two corporations. The court of appeals held that the corporation’s contacts could not be imputed to the individual and that his email and telephone contacts with a Texas resident did not constitute purposeful availment. Connie Pfeiffer handled the briefing and oral argument in the court of appeals. See March 2, 2010 opinion (attached).
