Arbitration Victory on Appeal

November 1, 2010

On Oct. 22, 2010, the Texas Supreme Court unanimously granted a mandamus petition filed by Beck Redden. The case (In re 24R) involved an employer-employee dispute and an arbitration agreement. After the lower courts declined to enforce the arbitration agreement, the employer hired Beck Redden partner David Gunn to seek Supreme Court review. He and his colleague John Adcock filed mandamus papers in the Supreme Court, which unanimously ruled that the agreement was enforceable. They collaborated on the mandamus with San Antonio trial attorney Grace Bellomy.
