Victory for Hewlett Packard Upheld on Appeal
May 2, 2011Beck Redden successfully upheld a plaintiff's verdict for Hewlett Packard Company in Houston's First Court of Appeals. This breach of contract case was tried by Troy Ford and Jas Brar to a Houston jury and resulted in a million dollar judgment for Hewlett Packard. Connie Pfeiffer handled the jury charge at trial and served as lead appellate counsel on appeal, arguing the case in March 2011. In an opinion authored by Justice Jane Bland, the Court of Appeals unanimously upheld nearly all of the jury's damages award and, at Hewlett Packard's request, remanded for a new trial on attorney's fees.
